Meet Our Staff

Dwayne Plender

Dwayne graduated from the South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy in 1966. He and his wife Cheryl started the Dutch Mill pharmacy in 1969 and he has been working the counter for nearly 50 years. He and Cheryl have a daughter and 3 sons as well as 12 grandchildren. He served two terms on the city council, 30 years on the Pioneer Home Board, and 36 years on the Board of Hope Haven. He is a member of the Iowa Pharmacy Association and the American Pharmacists Association

Brent Plender

Brent graduated from the South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy in 1991 with a BS in Pharmacy and from Creighton University College of Pharmacy in 2000 with a PharmD degree. He has been employed at the Dutch Mill Pharmacy since 1991. He is a member of the Iowa Pharmacy Association, the American Pharmacists Association, and the National Community Pharmacists Association. He lives in Orange City with his wife Karla. They have three daughters.

Blake Plender

Blake was born in Orange City and has called Orange City home for most of his life. He graduated from the South Dakota State University College of Pharmacy in 2000 with a PharmD degree. He has worked at the Dutch Mill Pharmacy since 2001. He is a member of the Iowa Pharmacy Association and the American Pharmacists Association. He lives in Orange City with his wife, Marcia. They have two daughters and a son.

Joy Steenhoek

Joy started at the Dutch Mill Pharmacy in 2000 as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. She graduated from Creighton University College of Pharmacy in 2012. She lives on an acreage near Hawarden with her husband, Jerry, and their two sons.

Patrick Giannantonio

Patrick graduated from the Rutgers College of Pharmacy in 1986. He has lived in Orange City since 2004, when he joined the staff at the Dutch Mill Pharmacy. He and his wife Susan have a daughter and a son.
